Bird-Friendly Penn is an interdisciplinary group composed of students, staff, and faculty at the University of Pennsylvania who share a common passion and love for birds. Members strive to make Penn more bird aware by reducing the number of bird strikes on campus through education and outreach.

The following items constitute the Conditions of Entry.



ELIGIBILITY + ANONYMITY


  • There is no entry fee.


  • Submissions must conform to page/sheet dimensions found on the COMPETITION TEMPLATE and the instructions shown on this website. Non-conforming submissions will be disqualified.


  • Please note that only a single PDF file will be accepted as the final submitted document.

  - The PDF will have multiple pages per the COMPETITION TEMPLATE

  - The PDF must be under 10MB.

  - The PDF must be named with the entrant’s PennKey. If you are part of a team, please use only one              person’s PennKey.

  - In preparation of the final submitted PDF, the InDesign template should include only high resolution          raster images (JPEG or PGN, at 300 dpi at full size) and all vector images (AI, Rhino, etc.) should be        flattened prior to insertion into the InDesign file to keep file sizes manageable.


  • Submissions will only be accepted from eligible entrants who have submitted digitally through JUNO by the competition close date (11.59pm US EDT on November 7th, 2022). The JUNO course folder can be found under "Submission" folder using this file address.

  • Submitted materials shall not be released nor exposed to the public, press, or other media (including social media) before the announcement of the winning entries. Entrants who violate this condition will be disqualified.


  • No information contained in submissions shall be deemed confidential; therefore, please do not submit any information that may be considered proprietary in nature.


  • Entrants are responsible for any costs incurred in the preparation of a submission (there shouldn’t be any since there is no registration fee).


  • By entering this competition you warrant that your submission does not include any images or text infringing on a third-party copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property right.


  • By entering this competition you grant the University of Pennsylvania a free license to use, publish, distribute, and make derivatives of the submitted materials, in whole or in part, in connection with promotion, review, publication, and exhibition of the competition, and for archival and other purposes, in any format including print, digital, and online.


  • Competition organizers have complete discretion over how submitted materials are adapted or used in any publication, exhibition, or promotion. Images may be cropped, altered, adapted, or reformatted, fonts may be replaced, and text may be edited for any publication or exhibition, and for promotional purposes, without notice to the entrant.


  • Competition organizers may request design files from entrants for the purpose of making font changes, formatting changes, text corrections, image resizing, or other necessary changes required for publication or exhibition. Entrants will be properly credited on all such material.


GENERAL


  • Jury processes and deliberations are private and the decisions of the jury process are final.


  • The information on this website forms part of these Conditions of Entry. By submitting an entry to this competition via PennBox, you are agreeing to the Conditions of Entry.


  • The competition organizers reserve the right to amend this website at any time, without notice.
