
JEFF GOLDSTEIN | DIGSAU
Jeff Goldstein, FAIA, is a Principal and cofounding partner at DIGSAU, a Philadelphia-based studio practicing contemporary architecture, urbanism, and environmental design. With a background in ecology, Jeff brings an interest in the relationship between people and buildings to their physical surroundings. Many of Jeff’s projects employ a range of creative façade treatments to minimize bird strikes, such as The Discovery Center, an urban bird sanctuary in Philadelphia’s Fairmont Park and a Residence Hall at Swarthmore College. Jeff has taught sustainability, technology, and design studios at Temple University. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Community Design Collaborative and 2022 President of AIA Philadelphia.

EVA LEW | Penn Facilities & Real Estate Services
Eva Lew, AIA, is the Director of Architecture and Planning in Penn’s Office of the University Architect. She provides leadership and support for OUA’s oversight of development, design and preservation of University facilities and landscapes. Eva is a graduate of Penn with over 25 years of professional experience prior to joining the University in 2017. While at Venturi Scott Brown & Associates and then Ballinger, she managed an impressive portfolio of College and University projects for peer institutions, as well as mentoring young staff as an integral part of each firm’s leadership.

KATE ORFF | SCAPE
Kate Orff is the Founding Principal of SCAPE and Director of the Urban Design Program and Center for Resilient Cities and Landscapes at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation. She focuses on retooling the practice of landscape architecture relative to the uncertainty of climate change and creating spaces to foster social life, which she has explored through publications, activism, research, and projects. Bird conservation is an issue long near and dear to Kate. She was a NYC Audubon Design Fellow and Project Director for the Bird Safe Building Design Guidelines, which won a 2008 National ASLA Award.

KEITH RUSSELL | Audubon Mid-Atlantic
Keith Russell is the Program Manager for Urban Conservation for Audubon Mid-Atlantic. Based in Philadelphia at the Discovery Center his work has involved education, monitoring, research, advocacy, and on the ground conservation to improve conditions for birds in ways that have also broadened engagement in the environmental movement. Areas of special focus include bird collisions with human structures, birds and nocturnal lights, native plants, migration stopover habitat, and ornithological history.

LUCINDA SANDERS | OLIN
Lucinda Sanders is a Design Partner and the President and CEO of OLIN. She is responsible for continually shaping OLIN as a leader in design that can answer the complex challenges of the 21st century. Her efforts extend beyond client-based work and include advancement of the field through engagement with academia, participation on boards, and the co-creation of the Landscape Architecture Foundation’s Fellowship for Innovation and Leadership. She also co-founded OLIN LABS, the research arm of OLIN. Lucinda has led the design of many of OLIN’s signature award-winning urban projects that, irrespective of size or scale, are infused with the most forward-thinking ideas on resilience and sustainability. Lucinda is a lifelong bird-lover and birder.
